Elba Island is a hidden gem for tourist and Italians alike. This small island, which was once the home to the notorious Napoleon Bonaparte, offers breathtaking scenery of forests and beaches. The island has an array of fresh seafood and one of the best gelato in Italy (in my opinion). 

I was fortunate enough to have a friend and an Elba Island native, Ivo, show me around the island. He introduced me to some of the most popular attraction on the island such as the home of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Fortezza Medicea.  There are also small, charming churches, restaurants by the beach and schools by the shore. This island is filled with beauty, delicious food, and a captivating history. Although this place might not be well known to many tourists, it is definitely a place worth visiting! I hear summers in Elba are delightful.
